Joy Lam is the founder of Clarient Advisory, a strategic advisory firm working at the intersection of traditional finance, digital assets and onchain markets, with a focus on tokenised product architecture and global regulatory strategy.

She advises financial institutions moving onchain and digital asset businesses scaling into regulated, institutional markets. Her work sits where product design, regulatory characterisation, custody, distribution and execution meet. She leads on product and structure, while bringing equal depth to the regulatory strategy around those decisions, so they are shaped together from the start.

Joy currently serves on the Hong Kong Government's Task Force on Promoting Web3 Development, contributing industry perspectives on the evolution of onchain markets and their integration with existing financial systems.

Prior to founding Clarient, Joy was Head of Global Regulatory and APAC Legal at Binance, where she worked closely with senior leadership on licensing strategy, market entry, product structuring and the interaction between onchain products and regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.

Earlier in her career, Joy was a partner at leading international law firms, advising asset managers and financial institutions on complex cross-border structures and a number of Hong Kong's first-of-kind virtual asset and tokenisation matters. Her experience includes Asia's first tokenised open-ended and closed-ended fund structures, the first tokenisation of prime London real estate, and other landmark product structuring initiatives at the intersection of digital assets and traditional finance.

Her work combines crypto-native product understanding with institutional fluency, giving her relevance to both institutions moving onchain and crypto-native teams entering regulated or institutional markets.
